Does Plasfy support Hebrew text with right-to-left (RTL) alignment?

Question:

Does Plasfy support Hebrew text with right-to-left (RTL) alignment?

Answer:

Plasfy currently offers partial support for Hebrew (RTL) text.

Text can be entered and displayed in Hebrew, but please note the following limitations:

Known Limitations:

  • Punctuation marks (such as commas, periods, question marks, etc.) may not align correctly at the end of Hebrew sentences.

  • Some fonts (e.g. Alef) do not render RTL punctuation properly due to font-specific handling.

  • Text box resizing may occasionally disrupt alignment or formatting.

  • In rare cases, it may be difficult to reselect or edit a text box after it has been deselected—this is more common with pasted RTL content.

Workarounds:

  1. Use a font with better RTL handling
Try different fonts like Arial or Tahoma, which may work better with Hebrew punctuation.

  2. Manually re-align punctuation
If punctuation shifts, try deleting and retyping it after formatting the rest of the sentence.

  3. Refresh selection behavior
If you cannot reselect a textbox, try zooming in/out or toggling layer visibility in the sidebar.

  4. Use separate layers for punctuation (optional)
Some users prefer to place punctuation in its own textbox for precise control.

Status:

  • Full RTL support is on our development roadmap, but we do not have an ETA at this time.

  • We recommend using the above workarounds in the meantime.

If you have feedback or encounter other issues, you're welcome to contact support—however, please be aware this is a known limitation and not a bug.

Thanks for your understanding.
